Trenchless sewer replacement of more than 4000 linear feet of 8 inch sewer main and 100 side sewer connections to residences in the Richmond Beach area was completed in January 2018. Nearly all residents in the area opted to participate in the private side sewer replacement. The project was part of a multi-year capital improvement plan to restore, improve and expand the Ronald Wastewater District’s infrastructure. CHS managed the project which included survey, design, construction, and inspection of the completed work. The project was completed on time and on budget.

Key issues faced in this project included working with property owners related to their private side sewers and protecting and repairing existing manholes in the area.

The Town of La Conner opened the new Boardwalk to the public after the current phase was construction complete.  CHS designed the steel pile supported, over water, walkway and provided construction support.  The Boardwalk provides a 1400 LF scenic walkway along the Swinomish Channel and gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy the waterfront.  The project also improved the fish habitat by removing solid decks and replacing them with light penetrable grating.
