Veteran’s Drive Water Main Replacement
Phases 1, 2 and 3

Owner: Lakewood Water District

Client: Randall M. Black, General Manager | Craig Gibson, Engineer

CHS has provided the design for three phases of the District’s Veteran’s Drive water main replacement as part of their ongoing Rehabilitation and Replacement Program. Phase 1 consisted of the design to replace 1,800 feet of 8-inch asbestos cement (AC) main with 12-inch ductile iron (DI) water main. Phase 2 designed the replacement of 1,700 feet of 6- and 8-inch AC main with 12-inch DI water main. Phase 3 was the replacement of an additional 2,800 feet of 6-inch AC main with 12-inch DI main.

For all three phases, CHS prepared project specifications and construction cost estimates for the project. Because the 12-inch main exceeds the SEPA categorical exemption, we also prepared the SEPA environmental checklists for each phase for the District to distribute as lead agency. CHS survey department provided the topographic survey for each phase.
