Washington Street Loop Roadway and Utility Improvements

Owner: Town of La Conner  |  Contractor: C. Johnson Construction

Client: Brian Lease

CHS was responsible for producing construction plans and specifications for the reshaping and widening of approximately 1,600 linear feet of existing roadway along South Second and Whatcom Streets in the Town of La Conner. Concrete sidewalk (including curb and gutter) was constructed and ADA-approved facilities were implemented to define the pedestrian zones. In addition to the roadway, improvements were made to the Town’s existing water and storm drainage systems. CHS partnered with the Town on several public meetings and smaller sessions with individual business owners to minimize the construction impact while insuring that the design goals could be met.

A Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant was used in constructing this project.
